If you know anything about Instagram, then you know about the algorithm. It’s everyone’s goal to crack that algorithm but really it’s so simple if you just sit down and schedule the time to do it. Today, we want to give you FIVE easy ways to increase your engagement that you can implement today!
- Engage With Your Audience
It is vital that you respond back to your audience when they are interacting with you. Your audience follows you or your business to learn more about your products and services, so when they are asking questions and inquiring about your biz, make sure you pay attention to them! On another important note, you should always be engaging with the content that your audience is posting as well. This engagement shows that you care about them and you care about building a stronger relationship with them. We set a timer for 15 minutes each day, for each client, specifically to interact with their audiences to ensure that we are constantly and continuously building that awareness and relationship with their consumers.
2. Be Consistent
Kind of how I mentioned before, I set a timer every day for each client to make sure that I am consistently engaging with their audience. We also use Sprout Social to schedule all of our posts in advance to make sure that we are showing up on all social platforms. Being consistent with your posts will help with your brand awareness to become top-of-mind with your audience. Just how you want your audience to show up for you, you need to show up for them as well. Whether that be through your hashtags, posts, or stories, make sure you are consistently showing up in their feeds.
3. Create a Cohesive Feed
If your brand aesthetic is white and light make sure that this vibe is visually present in your photos and how you edit them. You can even use this aesthetic when you’re creating graphics as well. This will allow your feed to have a more branded feel and it will be more visually appealing for your audience. I know this seems silly or unimportant, but it will help to keep your audience from leaving your profile so quickly.
4. Utilize Stories Everyday
We live in a world where people want information and they want it fast. Instagram Stories are the perfect place for your audience to sift through your content in a quicker manner. Here, you don’t have to be as strict with your aesthetic because people get to see your personality in a real time fashion rather than just through static posts. People like to see the behind-the-scenes on your projects, or even just your day-to-day activities, in this manner. This is another great way to build a closer relationship with your audience. Even though you don’t have to directly talk to one person, that one person will feel like you are speaking to them.
5. Hashtag Strategy
I cannot stress this enough… PLEASE USE A HASHTAG STRATEGY. I promise you that people search for things based off of phrases that come up in hashtags. Utilizing a hashtag strategy will increase the chances of people coming to your page and seeing your posts. Make sure that you are using hashtags that are relevant and applicable to your photo, as Instagram will flag your account if you continue to use hashtags that have nothing to do with what you’re posting. For instance, if you’re a restaurant, make sure you hashtag the meal, your location, and anything you as a consumer would search for if you were looking for a restaurant.
